Wow. I’m astonished at the interest people have taken in this project, and pleased with the positive feedback it’s garnered. Thanks to all who have gotten in touch with me, whether by leaving a comment in the last post, emailing me, or pinging me on the #camping
IRC channel.
So, I’m excited to be releasing 0.2.0. With it comes a few bugfixes, and a couple of new features. Most important is that the script should now be able to deal with Ruby being installed in locations other than /usr/local/bin
.
The new features I’ve added are support for multiple templates, and a yurt update
command, which is designed to help you update a Yurt CMS installation in one easy step. I’ve updated the Yurt CMS project site with documentation reflecting the changes.
Perhaps more importantly, I managed to get some additional infrastructure in place for managing an open source software project. I’m looking at this more as an experiment than anything, so if it’s not working for you, please let me know.
What’s the infrastructure? It’s a new project setup on RubyForge. Check it out! The obvious benefit is that the gem can now be installed simply by running sudo gem install YurtCMS
. I’m also going to try their bug tracking features, and see how that goes for project management.
Some of you may have recalled me talking about installing Trac. I’m still open to doing that, but I’m deferring it until I can see how RubyForge works out.
Anyway, if 0.1.0 didn’t do it for you, go install 0.2.0 and see how well that works out.
